This was the weather accumulation on my windshield as I was driving over the Ashley River bridge at about 3:30 this afternoon. It’s now about 6:45 p.m. and the weather’s not looking any better, just darker and more ominous. An ill fate for the outdoor performance of The Burial at Thebes at the Cistern. Spoleto officials have been biting their nails all day, a neurosis that began last night during a downpour that put the first damper on the festival vibe. Even so, I’m told that the show will go on as planned at 8:30 tonight.
